ma mère a eu cinquante ans aujourd'hui. je vais avoir 21 ans dans un mois et trois jours. titanic et les spice girls ont dix ans. almostfamous. a un an. il faut que je décide si je veux consacrer une partie non-négligeable de mon salaire à mes études et non aux chaussures/soon-to-be cocktails/NYCBallets. mon frère va passer son bac. est-ce que je suis là où je voulais être à cet âge? hier j'avais 12 ans. ma soeur a 12 ans. j'ai pas envie de retourner à la sorbonne. ma mère est encore là pour les prochaines cinquante années, right ? il faut que j'écrive la [saison 19]. est-ce que c'était mieux, avant ? est-ce que je devrais me résigner ? il faut que j'arrête de regarder one tree hill et de lire les news people. si on me demande quels sont mes projets, je peux parler non-stop pendant vingt minutes. alors grosso modo l'idée avec le temps c'est que ça passe trop vite, mais en même temps tes projets se réalisent pas assez vite. "life is short. and long. life is short and long." dans october road, bryan greenberg dit qu'il va revenir dans pas longtemps mais en fait il revient dix ans après, coincidence ? i think not. j'ai l'air jeune d'après certaines personnes: -you can't go to the gym, you're underage. -no i'm not, i'm 20. -huh, you look like you're a teenager. j'ai l'air moins jeune d'après d'autres personnes: is she your daughter ? (x62). je suis contente de pas faire partie des gens qui balancent "tysons is like my favourite place" [adaptation: place d'arc/les halles c'est trop mon endroit préféré] alors qu'ils sont dans un endroit avec une histoire, une personnalité, des cupcakes à $1 après 18h (uncut dialogue: -tysons is like my favourite place. -... like in mclean or in general ? -no, in general. -... *good grief*). je crois pas avoir jamais eu de plans, du genre dans tant d'années j'en serai là, du genre "after careful consideration, i decided that i am getting married this year". je voudrais bien avoir une meilleure mémoire à court terme contre une moins bonne mémoire à long terme. grâce à mon père qui dès la naissance a voulu m'inculquer que rien n'est valable à part mozart/ picasso/bergman, j'aime autant regarder tout sur ma mère que america's next top model. would you rather be a desperate housewife or a cat lady?

# i like the idea that after spending 18 or 19 years in the same place, i've managed to have three new addresses in the last 6 months.
until Aug 06-- Orleans
Sept-Dec O6-- Paris
Jan-March 07-- Washington, DC
March 07-- New York, NY
but now i'm totally settling in i'm gonna stay there for like 9 months :)

 

# i hate the cold. i repeat. i hate the cold. example: last week i couldn't open my car doors it was so freezing. the guy from starbucks put some hot water on them and we were fine. except that when i got home it was frozen again. i don't like the idea of being stuck in my own car. it just scares the hell out of me.

 

# trust me, you don't want to watch Sex and the City when you're 5000 miles away from your friends. next time i leave you to go far away for a long time, at least i'll hug you before.

 

# they say being an au pair is the best birth control in the world. i'm not sure about that. i'll just get an au pair and everything will be fine :)

 

# new vocab! oh my! holy molly! oh my goodness!

 

# i went to a classic suburbian baby shower. lunch at 11am, girls only, ralph lauren onesies and diaper genies. really fun (3rd degree fun) to plan and to attend. made me feel pretty good: i am not like these women (ps: yes, they really exist. it smelled the desperate housewife all over the place).

 

# can you show me some ID ? that's right, i got my horrible picture ;)

 

# philly's gotten cool. come with me the next time i'm going, we'll have cheesesteak (not cheesecake :p) on South Street.

 

# btw, i had an epiphany the other day, i think i should be a professional party planner and/or a caterer. i'm seriously good at organizing these events.

 

# mexican, lebanese, thai, chinese, italian, american, indian, argentinian, spanish foods. that's the diversity you want in your life.

 

# meanwhile, in the news, anna nicole died and britney turned checked in and out of rehab, turned bald, checked into rehab again.

 

# dorothy's slippers! carrie's laptop! kermit the frog! r2d2 and c3-po! they're all at the museum of american history :)

 

# so i tried the whole suburbia thing, the dog the mommy and me class the mall, and it's nice and everything, but i totally got the two-month itch, there's really not that much to do once you've explored the mall. and dude, let's be honest, nothing beats manhattan. i feel like i've seen nothing of dc though.
