Around the corner.

New York, NY. April 18th 2007, 7:42pm.

 

So what happened was, Marieke, Anneke and I are out. Anneke and Marieke are inside the Nonno Gourmet around the corner of our block coz we needed soy sauce to go with our sushi. I'm hanging out outside with the dog, I'm kinda bored, looking around, and there he was, waiting for a cab. Yup, I totally saw Paul Rudd. And PS, he's way cuter in real life than he is on tv. And I was really not cool about it coz our eyes totally crossed so the following dialogue was pretty obvious >>

 

So Anneke just paid and is coming out of the store:
- *whispering and not at all discreet* Anneke I think Paul Rudd is waiting for a cab on the corner
- what ? (the downside of whispering is that often people have no idea what you just said)
- I think Paul Rudd is right there waiting for a cab
- Oh my God you're totally right
And then we kept walking but we turned around like ten times in half a block repeating 'oh my god that was paul rudd'.

 

That's what I love about New York, just yesterday they were shooting this show or movie practically on my block, and now Paul Rudd officially lives in my building, and my friends saw David Schwimmer sitting on a bench, and Connie Nielsen and Lou Reed live in my friend's building, and friends of my friends' saw Michelle Williams in Brooklyn, and I know people who know people who saw Julia Roberts and Leonardo DiCaprio and Sarah Jessica Parker and Liv Tyler, and my friends know Woody Allen's au pair, and Paul Rudd was in Romeo+Juliet with Leonardo DiCaprio, and come on it's almost like I know Paul Rudd now, so really I'm this close to meeting Leonardo DiCaprio.

It's a geek's geek's world.

To all the geeks out there, there are really jobs where you can sit all day at your computer and do hum.... computer stuff, which is so unfair, 'cause it's not like i could find a good job as a baker.

vendredi j'ai rencontré chloé et laetitia. whitney museum et jackson hole diner où ils servent les plus gros burgers de la ville. je rentre à 1h.

samedi on est allé à coney island à une fête foraine rétro et déserte. on a vu un freak show et on a fait un tour de montagnes russes. après on a retrouvé trois autres filles (du new jersey et du connecticut hahaha) et on est allé dîner au yaffa café dans l'east village, ex-QG underground mais maintenant ya plus que des super beaux serveurs, plus c'est ouverts 24/7 jvoudrais bien y aller vers 4-5h en été et manger dans le jardin une salade grecque avec la sauce à la carotte et un cheesecake aux fraises des bois, et un cocktail obviously. après on est allé dans un bar, the delancey, über original comme nom vu que c'est dans delancey street. un videur avec une pure tête de videur, de la bonne musique à part quand le dj est parti dans un délire rappeux dont il aurait pu s'abstenir. pour ton information, vers 4h les mecs américains sont aussi désespérés que les mecs français. et vive le métro qui ne ferme jamais ;)

limos (i saw 1, there was probably more. it was white, which is just tacky). on sale ugly strapless dress from macy's (236). guys looking around searching for the best piece of meat chick (258). cabs (4). girls checking out navy men (502). corsage (3). tiaras (5). guy proposing to girl on stage (1). girls already with a navy man (112). guys trying to impress girls by 'dancing' or doing some ridiculous routine (23). good music (most of the night). girls wearing gorgeous/oh so expensive dresses (87). good bands (2). bad shoes (371). girls putting a ridiculously high amount of food on their plate (101). cute navy men (466. i bet they're not all that cute, but it's all about the uniform). navy women (45). chaperones (16). people i knew (12). wasted girls at 8:45 (i saw 1, there was probably more). guy looking like ashton kutcher (1). girls getting sprite spilled all over their dresses (1). oh so loud and tacky and vulgar french girls (4). girls obviously lacking self-confidence (178). blondes (397). glasses of sprite (3).
